Navdon Technology makes every effort to save your Operating System. However, in some cases the only option of restoring your computer to a useable state is to reinstall the main OS. Once this has been done personalized computer programs and preferences will need to be reinstalled and reset as well.

If the main OS needs to be reinstalled, we will need your original disks with key codes and serial numbers.

We will be happy to reinstall user applications, if needed. Please furnish us original disks with needed key codes or serial numbers. Freeware or free downloads from the Internet are available at your request.

We can transfer data and/or make data copies on external drives. If you upgrade your hard drive, we can transfer your data and settings at your specification. Expense will be quoted.

We will be glad to install or upgrade simple hardware accessories, such as network cards, hard drives, extra RAM memory, video upgrades, and such. We prefer that you supply the actual hardware and we will be happy to make recommendations.
Expense will be quoted individually.

At times the computer can be literally dirty. The fan is constantly blowing air and dust into the machine. Dust will accumulate on every part of the computer, which can cause overheating. At worst case, conductive particles will cause shorts over sensitive electronic components. This is NOT good. We recommend an actual physical cleaning to the inside of your computer. This may become absolutely necessary in some cases to restore your computer to a healthy state.

It is not always necessary to send the computer off to the shop. Many problems can be resolved remotely.*

Microsoft has a Remote Assistance capability whereupon the "Expert" (Navdon Technology) can view actions on your computer through the Internet and make recommendations.

Navdon Technology can "take-over" your computer with the user's explicit permission. We can control the keyboard and mouse action, run programs, and virtually do anything as if we were right there with you. This is a very powerful tool; but it is totally controlled by the user: You can disconnect the control at any time, watch what is going on, and permit access by means of a password you yourself choose.

*NOTE: Remote support may not be the solution for all customer problems. This would include computers that cannot boot or for those without Internet access.

Special Consideration:
In case your computer does not boot but you have a secondary computer with Internet access, we may be able to "talk you through" problems using Instant Messaging (IM) or E-mail methods.

Once again the computer is both a benefit and a bane to you as a parent. As if the world outside wasn't dangerous enough, there is a clear and present danger to our children in the world of Cyberspace. How do we encourage learning and study of valuable information; but yet prevent predators and corrupting influences?

The answers are simple: It is the implementation that is difficult. We know what to do, but how do we do it? Thankfully, there are many solutions and they all stress vigilance and preparedness. We know what our machines are capable of and we can diligently defend our children from attack and attraction.

With your existing Internet Explorer you can tie into a public filter to ban objectionable content. This allows you, as a parent, to be in complete control.

The latest and greatest in digital telephone connections is a thing called VoIP. This stands for Voice over Internet Protocol. Basically, conversations are encoded as digital streams and are broadcast from point to point over the Internet. The benefit is that, wherever you have an Internet connection, you have a Telephone connection.

So what do you need besides the Internet? Here the options are many and flexible. In the simplest version, all you need is your computer and a software program that makes your mouse, screen, speakers, and microphone look like a standard cell phone. From there, the options go up and up. Eventually you can build your private phone company with numbers you assign and control.
